Constituents Tell West to Vote No on New Tax Giveaways to Richest 1%

On the eve of an anticipated final vote today on a Republican plan they have dubbed “The Millionaires’ Dream Budget,” angry constituents of Rep. Allen West gathered yesterday at his West Palm Beach office. They called on him to vote no on $4.6 trillion in new tax giveaways to Wall Street, CEOs and the richest 1% of Americans that require cuts to essential services that impact the 99%. The constituents—among them seniors, students and veterans called on Rep. West to vote against the final version of the U.S. House Republican budget, which would give new tax cuts averaging $150,000 to anyone earning over $1 million and pay for these and other tax breaks through cuts to healthcare, veterans’ benefits, jobs assistance, student loans and school lunches.
